Delegate Hecht Named to House Leadership Position

As the 2010 Maryland General Assembly begins its legislative year, the Speaker of the House of Delegates has appointed Delegate Hecht as one of the Deputy Majority Whips. In this position, Delegate Hecht will work closely with the Speaker and other leaders on guiding critical legislation through the House. She joins 10 other delegates named to this leadership team on January 14, 2010.
“As key bills move the legislative process, the Speaker brings this leadership team together to discuss the bills and develop strategies for successful passage. I am honored to be again named as part of this team,” Hecht stated.
Delegate Hecht brings a lot of experience to this post. She previously served as a Deputy Majority Whip from 1998-2003.
